The Organizing Committee of the Uganda Canada Convention announces the postponement of the 9th Edition of its Annual Business Expo and Convention, Toronto Edition, originally scheduled for August 28–30, 2026, to the Summer of 2027.
This decision follows the travel restrictions arising from the Ebola outbreak, including the 90-day measures imposed by the Government of Canada affecting residents of Uganda, as well as the temporary suspension of flights by several major airlines operating out of Entebbe International Airport
During the 90-day period, Canada will also pause making decisions on applications for documents from residents of these countries. Residents of these countries will not be allowed to travel to Canada, even if they hold a temporary resident visa, permanent resident visa, or an electronic travel authorization (eTA). These developments have impacted the ability of members of the diaspora community to travel and participate in the Convention as planned.
This decision prioritizes the health and safety of participants and follows consultations with various stakeholders, including our host hotel.
The Uganda Canada Convention remains committed to delivering a powerful Business Expo and Convention that promotes trade, investment, tourism, cultural exchange, and diaspora engagement between Uganda and Canada.
All current registrations, invitations, sponsorships, and exhibitor commitments will remain valid and will be applied to the rescheduled Convention in 2027. New event dates will be communicated once confirmed with our host hotel.
