Acting Ambassador

As Charge D’Affaires – Uganda High Commission Ottawa – Canada, Allan Kajik has his eyes set on making sure diplomacy leads to real results.

His work is about strengthening Uganda’s relationship with Canada in practical ways, especially through trade and investment. The 9th Canada–Uganda Convention is a big part of that effort.

It brings together investors, business leaders and the Ugandan community in Canada to explore opportunities back home. The focus is on key sectors under the ATMS framework: Agriculture, Tourism, Mining/Energy, and Science & Technology; where Uganda is looking to attract investment and expertise.

There’s also strong attention on making it easier for Canadian businesses to partner with Ugandan companies, while tapping into the Ugandan diaspora as a link between the two countries.

Kajik will open the two-day event, welcoming guests and encouraging them to take a closer look at what Uganda has to offer. Simply put, the foundation is firm and the opportunities are there for the taking.
